Recording Percussion Set
Forums
Hi,
I need an advice for recording a percussion set ( a pair of congas, shakers, rain stick and bongos) in live situations outside.
The percussion set is the main rhythm section in a small acoustic set.
Any recommendations for mic combinations?
Greetings from Germany
Markus

When I first saw this video I thought for sure that it was faked- pre-recorded and then just videotaped as if it were live. But upon a closer look it seems to be real. What do you think:
RODE NT4 stereo mic for recording musician strings percussion
Forums
Hi
I am a 1 man camera crew! (due to budget constraints)
I want to record some musicians(percussion and-or string-guitar) in a small enclosed space( a music store actually).
I was thinking of simply boom mounting a RODE NT4 stereo mic going straight into my Zoom H6.
Opinions? Would a good cardioid mic be a better choice?

Best Way to Record Two Percussionists in a Concert Hall?

I'm a conservatory student, and I need to record a piece for 2 multi-percussionists. The instrumentation is 2 bass drums, 4 toms, 2 snare drums (snares off), 4 bongos, 6 woodblocks, and 2 pieces of metal (VERY loud, and only used at the end of the piece).

Mystery Percussion Sound!

Can anyone identify the percussion sound from the song "Hard to Concentrate" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It is from their 2006 album Stadium Arcadium.
I have not yet been able to figure out what that sound is... any ideas?

i was wondering if anyone knew who to get the gear like sound going on in pavements - motion suggests. i've heard it in other songs old and new, though i can't think of any right now.
heres a youtube clip where you can hear it, though not as good as in the studio version.
