Mac Power Pc
Hi, I've got a little problem, my Mac g5 powerpc has 3gb in ram, 1.8 ghz dual processor and I still can't manage to make it run perfectly with my sessions. Some of them get really heavy and take my RTAS CPU usage to 95% even. Is there a way I can optimize my mac for mixing? I followed all the instructions for mac optimizing in the pro tools manual, is there anything else I can do?

Backup Power and Conditioning
Hello All,
Does anyone know of a device that does power conditioning/cleaning AND is a UPS? I know you can get a UPS and then plug a power conditioner into it, but I am curious to know if there is one out there that does both in one box.

Power amp for Peavey Sp2
We just got 2 peavey sp2. And for now we use my Tapco J1400 power amp. This is my bass back up amp. And it is not that loud. What amp would you suggest for these speakers.
Sp2s:
RMS 500watts
Program 1000 wats
Peak 2000
P.S. We are thinking about adding 2 subs and an amp to run them may be next year and use it to run our own shows.

Buzzing power conditioner...Can it be fixed?
I've got a power conditioner and it conditions the power perfectly well. The problem I have is that it buzzes like a bee in a flower garden. This isn't 60 cycle hum...the unit is actually buzzing. I can't record with it on. It's just too loud. Not ridiculously lound, just loud enough to be annoying.

Very Basic Power Amp Question
Hello Everyone.
I should know this, and probably did at one time, but...
when using passive monitors with a power amp, should I set the gain on the amp to full and adjust the input for a comfortable db level (85db or so), or should I set the console output for unity gain and adjust the power amp to the desired level?

Looking for new stereo power amp
My old POOGE-II power amp (modded Hafler DH-200) lost the right channel the other day. I haven't gotten it on the bench to determine the cause (no visible kablamo's) but, if the Hitachi power mosfets puked, I'm probably SOL.
What's a good quality, neutral-sounding, 200 WPC amp these days? I can't put multi-K$ into this, either (got a kid starting college next month...)
