Ive come to a standstill in my own research and I thought maybe someone around here could give me some advice/opinions. :D

So before I get to deep into this my first question is.
Do I Still need to buy another interface when I have an A/D converter like the ones listed below?
If so: Would my audigy 2 suffice for this, since the DAC's would be bypassed anyway?

6SN7 & 12SN7. any of you guys who build or tinker have any opinions?

I know the au,at & 6sn7 are lower gain than their counterparts.

Any thoughts on the way they sound?

I've heard bad things about running 2 mic preamps in series... and it makes sense as to why... but I have a question about specific items.

Ahh I hate asking this, it seems like the question of the day. I m usually extremely decisive in my gear purchases but I'm in a tuff spot. I'm really happy with the gear I have now but there is definitely room for improvement to get " the sound." Where I'm at right now I'll prob only be able to make 1 more large purchase for the time being.

Hello, I have a firebox with the 2 XLR/instrument inputs in the front. What I want to do is record acoustic guitar using a condenser mic and plug the guitar's onboard preamp in the other channel. The problem is I think the phantom power applies power to both mic inputs. Will this harm the onboard preamp on the guitar(it's the kind with a 9 volt battery) if the phantom power is on?

so my Behringermic200 tube preamp has been acting up. it's been dying out during use, producing weird sounds, etc. i tried replacing the tube with no such luck. so i'm out $60, whatever.
