I am looking into buying a single channel mic preamp. I have $500 to spend. I have been trying to research mic preamps for a long time, but got tired as I have little experice with pres, dont know whats good whats bad.

Is more preamp needed?My plane is Sebatron vmp-2000 or 4000, and buy Joemeek SC2.2 and Final got the FATSO. Is VMP4000 needed? or buy vmp-2000 and buy other Brand Preamp? P.S. I got a English custom DI Preamp also. Why a lots people got a lots different pre? Never enough for pre? Thanks for advice

I am looking for a dual channel pre-amp in the price range of $300-$500. I want a preamp that will add a lot of warmth with low noise to a variety of instruments and vocals. It needs to be good quality and something that I can be happy with for a long time. If you have a recommendation could you please let me know what it is.

I rented a pair of Neve 1084's this weekend, and am very impressed with the sound of the preamps. I left the EQ's off, with all buttons out. These preamps sound very balanced and full, and multiple tracks mix easily. Almost magical. Closer to sounding like an album than ever.

Hey,any recomanded Preamp for Acoustic Guitar instead of Pick up..no volume control and EQ.

What you guys think would be the best choice?

To have Apogee buddle good preamp and good a/d converter ( I meant, mine-me :) ) or just leave the a/d's job for the audio interface for now ( m-audio delta 66) and use the money to get better pair of mic preamp amps ?

I have a RME multiface and have been more than happy with it. I have been using it with the PCMCIA card into my laptop but have just bought a dual G5.

i need a pre for the front end of my 001, pro tools pc based system. i am look for mid ground...say around 7-900 bucks used.

i need it to be a dual preamp as well, so i can do stereo stuff without phasing issues.

(supposed "JapaNeve" pre's from the Yamaha PM1000 consoles)
