i'v been saving some $ for pre and I was thinking of the Great River MP2 MH. i was going to buy it, but now i saw a Focusrite ISA 215 for 2000$.
my questions is:
is it a good deal ?
there's the advantage of the eq, but is it a good preamp ? i'v done my search at the forum and there is nothing on it

So i got the brick the other day and i only had a chance to work with it at a friends studio since all my gear is on location where I am doing recording for a band. We ran an AKG c1000 thru the brick on acoustic guitar and on vocals. We ran the signal straight from the brick into his aardvark and also thru the board into the aardvaark for additional gain.

I just converted my studio to digital ... and I am looking for advice on my pre-amp setup. I have 2 Focusrite octepre's, I am being told that I should just use them and that I basically have no need for me AMEK 9098 and my Focusrite Voicebox MKII.

I am assuming that is correct, just wanted to get your opinion prior to putting them on eBay.

Questions about impedance:
Just got a PreSonus Eureka (which has adj. mic impedance)great unit.

Ok guys. I've seen numerous times that API make the aggressive preamp for drums.

My question is. .are there any cheap, but aggressive sounding preamps? I know that you get what you pay for and some opinions are that a $100 pre is about the same as a $500 pre, but in the mid-level class. is there anything that is colored and aggressive?

i got a Audio-Technica 3035 microphone and i was wondering if this amp is good and if it gives good warm quality to ur vokals...thnx uppin!

I am looking to purchase a Focusrite Twin Trak. Is there an easy way to bypass the preamps on the 002r to get the pure signal from the focusrite?

Also, if i need to go into the 002r throught the XLR or the 1/4", will it seriously degrade the nice sounding signal coming from the Focusrite ?
