Can anyone recommend a few good titles on the subject of tube amp and preamp designs? I've found a few websites, but they only scratch the surface of course, although I have picked up a few leads on books from some of them. Thanks!

I've got a Tascam FW-1082 with the headphone output going into a Samson C-Que headphone distribution amp. I want to add a talk-back mic without sacrificing any of the board's 8 inputs.

The C-Que has an additional inject input that mixes with the stereo outs from the board. I'd like to add a preamp and mic there. I tried it with one of my other preamps and it works well.

ive been working on a design for 24 preamps as a front end for a new 24io interface I'm soon to get. It consists of:

-12 API 312 pre's
-12 Jensen pre's (with JT-16-B input trans.)
(API 2520 OpAmp)
(JT 990-C OpAmp)

I've been reading a lot in these forums about good quality pres and I've got a pretty good idea of where I want to go in the future (brick, seb, et. al)

i just got one of the tab funkenwerk v78 mic preamps its one of the coolest things ive ever heard does anyone else have one

I know a little bit about home recording and have gotten some decent sounds, but I don't know very much about mic preamps. Right now I'm using an mbox. I am looking into getting a Royer R-121but don't know if the mbox preamps are good enough. If they aren't, could you recommend something for under $500 that would give good results.

Can anyone briefly describe the functions of the preamp controls and what they accomplish.

I JUST BOUGHT A TUBEPRE AND IT MAKES A TERRIBLE LOW NOISE..IS THIS NORMAL? HOW DO I CONNECT IT? DO I CONNECT THE Mic DIRECTLY TO IT OR USE IT AS AN INSERT IN THE MIXER? DO I NEED TO GO TO WHO I BOUGHT IT FROM? I AM CONFUSED!
