well i have been using a Cubase setup for the past year but now i want to get a job as an engineer- so i guess it would be useful to learn the program they all seem to use- pro tools!

obviously, being 17 i cant afford the full blown pro tools HD or whatever it is (the prices scare me much!).

I am recording a rock band. What is a plugin package I should look into. I'm on a budget, would like to keep it Around $200 if possible.

I'm trying to record and electric guitar on Pro Tools 7 and I'm getting a split second delay in playback when I strum the guitar. This is making playing to click track and recording on time impossible. I have the guitar plugged into a POD XTLive stompbox, then throught an Mbox 2 USB to the computer. I'm listening through headphones.

Does anyone know how to get monitors that are hooked up through Pro Tools to play music from CD's or itunes from my computer. right now I use the cheap little speakers that came with the computer. I just thought this might be a lot better. I have a pc with windows XP.

i was a victI'm of some nasty spyware on my computer and was forced to format/reinstall xp on my main system drive. after i got xp back up and running, i loaded my drivers, then installed pro tools. i decided that i'd finally install my upgrade from my version of Pro Tools 6.4 to 6.9.

I have never been more frusterated.

I can't get any volume from my mics. I've tried 2 mics (one condenser ksm27/one non sm57), used a preamp/not used a preamp, checked all levels, made sure that everything obvious has been tried. I've tried different cables, different configurations, and I just can't get more than 1/10th of a signal into my mbox (running Pro Tools 6.4 on OSX).
