Does a wav file retain the bit rate that it was created from? If I record a track at 24/48 then make a wav file for transfer to my computer, will that file still be 24/48? Problably a pretty basic question, but I was under the impression that wavs. were uncompressed media.

Just trying to see if I have this correct:

If a mic has 130db max spl handling and you plug this into a mic preamp input that only has 86db of dynamic range and recorded something above 86db it would clip the input?

the black plastic cylinder surrounding the metal grille on the tip of the mic...

is it supposed to be able to swivel round and round?

-i just bought a brand new sm57 and noticed that i can turn this part round and round and it doesn't get tighter or looser than it was before..is this normal?

have you tried the C1000S as drum O/H's? I'm considering getting a pair but noticed they are not in your mic list. I understand that the list is "your" list meaning they are mic's you like ( which is all subjective) but I couldnt help wondering, is their something I dont know about this mic for it not to get a mention or quite simply its not your cup of tea?

Suppose I was using a Delta 1010 with Cubase to do my recording. What I want to do is send tracks to an outboard effects rack. Can this be accomplished with just the 1010 and Cubase or do I need a mixer for this?

I get hum coming to my console when I turn on my MOTU interfaces. Everything is grounded. Could it be that I use some unbalanced cables? Should I use all balanced?

This band has since gone on to sign with Victory Records (one of the largest indie labels around). I've got 2 choices, connecting the Direct Out to my converters, which is post-channel (trim, lowcut, fader, EQ), but gives me a balanced out.
