This may seem like a really dumb question but I'll proceed anyway, if the sample bit rate etc. is the same for soundcards can one card have an inherently better sound than another in terms of bandwidth, seperation, clarity etc?

hello there, brand new to recording, trying to record live in a basment, 3 piece, drums in a drum room, two amps in another. looking for advice on a device that can split and power three headphones for the players. please recommend me a device to split and power headphones and some headphone recommendations please.

ok, so it seems that from what I have been reading that Monster Cables are not really worth the extra cost. Can you guys give me some advice on good quality cables that won't break the bank? Thanks!

They are right expensive and considered to be resold OEM Versions of amercican mics. Does anybody know about american microphones were capsules come from china?

I have just recorded two CD's for clients. One is vocal with piano and the other is solo piano. Both were recorded with Steinway B's.

Just wanna share my satisfying moment of clarity. I have a nice studio with great gear and basically I've been happy and never had trouble getting the results I want. I'm a producer/songwriter/engineer and the studio is for my personal use only. Still I got these moments when I thought I need this and that piece of gear to improve the quality, and, you know how it goes.

I currently record on a Boss BR-864 and I don't like the limited amount of inputs. I want to move onto computer based recording and I have an idea on what I need to buy. I have a PC and I want to use that. I am thinking about buying an M-Audio firewire interface with the RCA and S/PDIF inputs and a mixer. I want a mixer with enough mic inputs to record drums that is under $300 dollars.

I've searched around the net to find products that are good for me but I felt lost in the middle of so many tecnical data!
