setting up DAW based home recording studio, need advice!

--
Hello,

I am trying to set up a home studio and have some questions. Like many novices, I went into Guitar Center with a little bit of knowledge and made purchases based on their suggestions and my budget. Now, I am trying to figure out if I really have the equipment I need for my purposes and if I need to buy a new computer, etc.

Want to set up a home recording studio!

Yes, I am a complete newbie to recording. My basement is setup as a practice studio so I have a lot of necessary items but i know there are some things Im missing.
What I have already is a Shure SM58 mic along with 3 V-tech VT-1040 mics plugged into a Soundtech Quick Mix6 mixer with 4 big monitors. I have all the drums, guitars, amps, pianos that i could want. What else do i need?

Building a recording studio in a trailer?

I have a dilemma. I love recording music but I am constantly moving to different houses. I was wondering if it would be worth while to maybe convert a large trailer into a home recording studio.

The dimensions of the trailer would be at least 8x24'. I would be able to tow the studio to where ever my next destination would be and leave it in the backyard.

Lexicon Alpha Home Recording Studio

I recently purchased a Lexicon Alpha to do some home recording with. I've set it all up on my computer, checked everything out, read the manuals, gone to the website, EVERYTHING. I have it set up exactly the way it tells me to, although when I go to record, it doesn't record.

Anybody know what could be causing this?
