samples from MoTu 896 and RME 800
I am deciding on a new interface, either a MOTU or RMEif i can find one at the right price. I was wondering if any of you had basic recordings of a guitar and vocal or something like that so i can hear the queality that i can expect. I am just trying to get an idea of the possiblilities are versus going to a studio and trowing down money for a couple tracks.
thank you

Running Digital Performer through Reason and back
Hello!
I was wondering if anyone knows how to work this out.. I'm currently running Reason in ReWire mode through DP. But what I want to do is use some of the signal processing that Reason has to offer, but no Reason channels appear in the outputs available for DP, only in the inputs. So, does anybody know how I would have to go about this?
Thanks!
preamps and converters- EMU and RME
OK, I took the leap of faith and got a UA LA610. The reason I bought it is that it was half price- used- and I figure I can sell it if I don't see an improvement in my sound. Obviously I will see some improvement, but how much with just one component is a mystery. I record original tunes alone even though I am in a cover band, so one channel strip is enough for me.

RME vs. MoTU
I have been searching a lot trying to find out more about these products. Heres my premise, I am looking to upgrade my computer and interface. I have a usb and want to get either Firewire or a PCI input. From what i read it would be a good move to get a nice interface with good pre's. I record in my room so there is no real studio, yet.

RME Fireface 800 questions
Hey,
I'm finally getting time to start working on my new studio. Ya! Ten years has passed since I upgraded from PT mix.
I'm using a Fireface 800 (oo la la) and Sonar 8 loaded into the new Rain ION 64 Octo Core, 16 gig of ram Vista 64. This system was tested and tweeked specifically for Sonar 8 Producer by Cakewalk. This should be fun.

RME Fireface with a ribbon?
I’ve been a lurker of this forum for some time (only recently creating a user account). Based on your input, I’ve bought an RME Fireface 800, a pair of BM5A’S, an SM7B, RODE NT2A, and ART MPA Gold, ART VLA compressor, among a few other things.

Digidesign 003 vs. RME Fireface 800+Mackie Control Pro
Hey there,
Mackie 1200F vs. RME Fireface 800
Anybody tried both? The Mackie unit seems to have a few more routing options and has more preamps - though quantity of preamps isn't really that big a deal for me. Any impressions of the comparison of quality of pres and converters of these two units.
I know, I know, I shouldn't even be thinking about this while I'm pissed off at my digi 002R...but I am.

RME Multiface I+Pre or PreSonus Firestudio?
The quick question in the title a little clarified in detail:
I'm about to bring my homerecording setup into a more functional shape. Computer-wise, I'm using XP and Cubase SX3. All prices are German street prices, in case you wonder...
For an interface, I have nearly settled on a PreSonus Firestudio (€777), together with the MSR (€189).
