In the process of trying to scale down, I'm moving to Firewire and a laptop instead of Lynx AES 16 cards and a desktop and monitor...

Lynx AES16 or RME HDSP AES32? Is it worth waiting for PCIe?
Hello, has anybody worked both those cards to tell me any differences in latencies, etc? Will there be any improvements in their new PCIe versions, what do you think? (I think the RME PCIe card is out already, has anybody tried it?) Thanks!
audio interfaces that work well... motu? RME? etc.
i've been using an akai dps24 for a couple years and everything is selfcontained.
I don't know what what system to go with, i want something with easy monitor sending and sounds good. i'd like to have 8 mic preamps built in with 8 or so more balanced inputs for more preamps. i've been lookin at MOTU and they seem to have (on paper) great monitor sends/mixing capability and

2 channels of AD/DA: Rosetta 200 or RME ADI-2?
i'm in the process of shopping for an external converter. My budget is under $2000. (lavrys are too expensive for me right now, myteks - i don't want to run into customer service type of issues if ever i have problems in the future) so my choice kinda boiled down to either rosetta 200 or RME ADI-2. rosetta is $1800 whereas RME ADI2 is $700.
The right laptop for RME fireface 800
Hi guys !
I'm new here...but I hope you guys can help me answer some questions.
I've been in and out of the computer recording world for 8 years now, and I have no problems with my desktop systems, since I build them myself.
Now I have to build a mobile DAW for my church...and I'm sort of lost because I don't know anything about laptops.

Attn all RME HDSP Users: 3.01 Drivers are FINAL!
Anyone running an RME HDSP card will CERTAINLY want to upgrade to these fabulous new drivers. They are much improved over the old 2.94 drivers from 2005, and allow lower latencies with less CPU Strain! 1.5ms should be attainable on most fast systems, and I'm presonally shooting to get the 0.75ms latency working .
