Sound of Endless Room?
Hi,
I've tried and tried to get a really huge sound (with midi&recorded audio), a sound where you can't hear the room or the audio hitting the walls, but failed so many times.. :( Does anyone have any ideas how to do so? I've tried so many different reverbs and setting, tried recording it out of high quality speakers with good mic's and so on..
Thank you for any answers!

Mic recommendation for room recording?
An admitted recording neophyte, I need some recommendations for a mic. I am a photographer and want to record the ambient sounds of a series of photo sessions including the pop of the strobes and the vocal interactions between me and my subjects in high enough quality that the result can be used as a partial sound track for an AV slideshow with a series of still images.

Room for recording
My upstairs bedroom is 11x12 with a bunch of stuff in it. Good for recording vocals. Ish. I am wondering if it is better to bring my amp downstairs for recording though. My basement is cement floors and walls with wood ceilings and mostly unfurnished. No walls or doors or anything. Would the openness of the basement make my amp sound better when cranked up?

1st Post: Live acous/elec gig room Micing - sml or lg dia?
Hello. This is my first post here on the forum. I've posted in quite a few other groups but hadn't found recording.org before. I thought I'd start with a question that I've tried improving on with fairly poor results:
Which monitor for this room
Hi
I'm searching for a pair of active quality monitors. They will have 4 ft of space in front them and 13 ft next to each side of them.
I would really appreciate some recommendations. Thank you.

Acoustic Treatment for a small, non-symmetrical room
Hi there. I’ve been reading/lurking in the forum for the past year or so, and have learned a TON over that time. Thanks to everyone for all the info.
I play guitar and sing, mostly as a hobby, but I do make a bit of money performing and streaming music online. I’ve bought some entry level gear over the past 2 years, and have also started recording using a DAW system.
Mixing, volume, headroom, a little help please.
Hi, I've been reading quite a few of the threads on this forum regarding mixing, mastering etc.
Most of the threads start out with a nice question and end up in some discussion about how professional recordings are not made by accident etc, etc.
This makes them hard to read, and even herder to learn anything.
Time Aligning Room Mics?
I was reading on the net,
somebody suggested time aligning room mics.
I had never done that before, as I always wanted the room sound.
So I tried it, basically yes you do get more low end, but it sounds like the mic is in front of the kit, almost like you shrunk your room.
My question is when and why would you do this?

Recording and mixing in the same room
Long ago, I read something to the effect that recording and mixing in the same room is not good due to a build up of the same room modes or resonances. Is this accurate? Is there an inherent problem tracking and mixing in the same room?
