What Reverb fx, plate, hall or room ?
Hi, I'd like to ask your opinion about reverb fx. When do I have to use plate, when hall and when room?
Is it right to use different algorithms in a song, (for example rooms for guitar, hall for vocals?)
If you use different reverbs, your mix will sound right?
Thanks

drumkit in the "control room"
i had my acoustic drumkit into my studio for some time after finishing the build. i moved it out though because the drums were resonating when i was playing music. even when i coughed they made noise.

understanding headroom -- dBv, dBu, VU primer ?
Reasonably new to this. This question arises from my search for a new/new-to-me preamp to replace my mobilePre
(which, not surprisingly, doesn't provide tracks which stack particularly quietly).
I believe that I understand the concept of headroom (i.e. - how hot a (mic) signal can the preamp handle?),
but not the measurement units.
[NEWBIE] Want to set up a studio in my room
OKAY, well, I'm a mega noob when it comes to this, and I've had 0 experience with the studio environment.
I want to set up a basic studio in my room for recording vocals(for hip hop , if that matters).
So, please go easy on me and recommend me some good equipment and around how much I would be spending?

Room Temperature affects sound mix
Hi all. I am new here and have a question regarding temperature and the mixing process. It is because during training a sound engineer has encouraged the idea of "zeroing" the sound board after every use; claiming the reason is because room temperatures fluctuate day-to-day and affect the overall mix (wavelength changes).
What I have found is this:

Verb in the Room, plug in? no plug in?
Let's say the recording room has natural re verb, is it necessary or needed to use a plugin ? Plug-in to much in this case? OR would it be best to capture the re-verb in room with a delay and call it done? What's your opinions?

High Room Temperature and Monitors
My Studio is in a finished room above a garage. I turn the AC on only prior to recording. During July & August, the temperatures reach 94 degrees with high humidity (South Carolina Coast).
My question - Is this high temperature and high humidity potentially damaging to the speakers (Of course, equipment is never powered up until the room cools down)

Problem: Control Room, Ears or Brain?
Hi all,
Mixes produced in my home studio don't translate well. Always boomy and with a touch of transparent listening fatigue - IOW, it feels "good" when the song ends.
