I've just started using Kontakt for MIDIs. In regard to the samples it comes with, how should I treat them when mixing?

Do they need the same EQ treatment as normal audio files? In other words, should I treat my Kontakt sample bass guitar as if it were any other audio track-recorded bass guitar?

I'm recording an acoustic drum kit into Samplitude V8 via a MOTU 2408 MKII.

I want to add-to/replace recorded drum sounds with samples like I hear about everyone else doing who records rock/metal drums.

What do I need to buy. triggers? software? sampler?

I have no clue. Help..please!

Are there any external harddrives that would be adequate for recording to them (and probably also storing heaps of samples)? The LaCie Big Disc Extreme 500GB should probably be fast enough due to the internal raid 0 array, but I heard a few bad stories about it's reliablity (due to it's lack of a cooling fan) and the price tag is pretty high. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Wondering what to go for regarding orchestral samples.

I have a Korg Triton with 16 bit sounds that is OK. Just wondering if the following options are worth investing in? They are varying costs; what xtra do you feel you get for the money? Any users out there with experience.

Is it at all possible to programme/create an authentic strummed guitar phrase from a bunch of individual note samples?
In other words i am basically trying to create an authentic sounding acoustic rhythm guitar track out of a sample CD i was given.
Any help is greatly appreciated

I have Sonar 4 and am tinkering with drumagog. I want to sample the kick and snare, and haven't been able to find any good samples that are free. How do you recommend me recording my own samples to use in drumagog?

Hey ro'ers I am thinking about getting some sample CDs to use with reason's sampler. I am thinking about purchasing some of my samples from soundfactory. Are there any specific sites I can visit to be able to download my sounds instantly? I am looking for mainly hip hop and RnB samples that are about 4 bars in length.
