Welcome Mike Fossenkemper to The RO Team of Moderators
I would like to be the first to welcome Mike Fossenkemper from TurtleTone Studio as our newest addition to the RO Team of Moderators. Mike is going to join our long time friend Joe Lambert to add and even more diversified ingredient to the Mastering forum. Mike has an outstanding track record, I am so excited to see him here. Very interesting bio Mike!
building a new system
Hi:
I do not have a computer based DAW and have been looking around here and other forums for info as well, although with not much success.

Calling All Anus's
Gary, how do you feel the different incarnations of DAW have compared lately. Now that you have your original Anus back, was it the best of the lot? Better than the PRS/Santana system or at least better than the newer 533(errata chipped) board?

PRS System
Well, 58+lbs later the box was sent out to PRS himself...well, not really. It went to the guy selling the Native Tools setup. Anyhue, the thing is a beast...

New Beginnings?
hi all
i am moving up from an all in one box (roland 2480 - great machine, just ready to move up in the studio) to a more pro "hard" set up - (probably) Mackie d8b, Radar 24project, and ?some type of pc (not mac) editing set-up.

Who would you love to work with?
Me, from what I can see and hear I'd love to work with Marius de Vries. He's everything I'd want in a studio; bright, risk taking, extremely talented and confident. Seems like a very nice man too in this month's Sound on Sound!
(That Melodyne software looks v.cool BTW).
Anyone else?
Renie

Do your own mastering?
I have worked out a system of keeping mastered and un-masterd copies of my mixes.
Confessions:
For a few years I used a Finalizer on all mixes, totaly maxed out.
I gave that up in favor of mastering in a DAW, I auditioned Waves plugins directly against the Finalizer and Waves won (for EQ anyway) They were less harsh.
