Sennheiser MS and Schoeps MS Pairs Compared
I own an MS pair of Sennheisers MKH40 Mid and MKH30 which I use occasionally for recording small choirs and ensembles and also recording foley.
I have a chance to pick up a Schoeps MS (cardiod centre) pair as well and was wondering whether anyone who has been lucky enough to use and compare both could comment on whether the sound is noticeably different?

Need lead on good source for Schoeps mics
Hi. I'm new to Recording.org. I'm looking for a good source (new or used) for Schoeps mics; specifically, the CMC64 US stereo set. I'm a jazz trumpet player interested in doing home recording. Many thanks. Please feel free to respond offline, as well: kays@iplawfirm.org.

Another Schoeps vs. . Sennheiser question
Hello all,
Sorry for flogging this subject again, but I'm about to bite on a big purchase and just wanted to get a bit more feedback. Hey, it's a lot of $$!
Background: I record organ, orchestra, orch+chorus and small acoustic ensembles (e.g. trios, etc). I currently have KM184 (pr) and Earthworks QTC1 omnis (pr). I am going to purchase one additional pr of SDC mics.

Schoeps MK2 vs. . MK2S vs. . MK2H
Hey all,
Jeremy's glowing review of the M296 nonwithstanding, I wondered if anyone has A/Bed these three Schoeps omni capsules and can offer their viewpoints. Even if you haven't A/Bed them, if you own one (or more) of them and can offer your reasons for puchase of one over the other, I would appreciate it.

Peluso vs. . Schoeps
Over time, I've seen a lot of microphone companies tout their wares as "Just like a M49 only better!" or "A U87 you can actually afford..." but rarely these companies actually have a true hit on their hands. (The Studio Project line being one notable exception.)

Schoeps M221B, price? How good it is?
Hi you all,
I kinda new here, just use to hang out on Talk Tech. I knew this guy, he's offering me a Schoeps M221B, mint conditions, but he doesn't know how much to ask for it. I'd like to hear if you guys have done some tracking with that one, I never
got one to play with... just wondering if it might be a good aquisition... :D
Thanks in advance!

Schoeps CMT-34
I recently came across a Schoeps CMT34 microphone. I was wondering what I can find out about it... History, construction, etc... About all I know is this particular mic was about 25-30 years old and is powered by 12 volt phantom (not T-power).
Anything else? How does it fit into the schoeps line as far as sound, lineage, etc.
Thanks!
