i'm looking at a new soundcard, i allready have a firewire solo, but i saw this one, which i wanted to buy first but it was too expensive than:

right now all i have to record off of is a soundblaster soundcard.
i was thinking about getting one of those Lexicon omega studio. anyother suggestions?

I came from the philippines.. I'm a newbie when it comes to these recording stuffs.. i got a karaoke amplifier here, I'm planning to connect my microphone to the karaoke amplifier, and the karaoke amplifier to my sound card, is that possible? the problem is i only see three pair of holes at the back that says AUX, VCD, DVD, but all of 'em are inputs.. the only output are for the speakers..

I installed the M-audio firewire solo(The last topic, ive managed to configure it).
but the only problem is that i connect the output to my speakers and only one speaker works!
ive tried everything i can, but i have no clue...
what can it be?

It's great to find this site. I just discovered it.

I see a lot of discussion about professional recording, mastering, and recording live music on computer - (which I used to do) but I can't find much about simply transferring vinyl LPs to CDRs. So here's my question.

This is the weakest link to my DAW. I need a good soundcard for recording, and advise? Are there any soundcards that would have a firewire input? Also I am hearing about soundcards that need preamps to work. I am not as compatent with comps as I would like, so any help for my dumbass would be appreciated.

Ok I think this is the place to put this. Our set up, mic-EV N/D 767a, mixer-Behringer UB802, sound card-Zoltrix Nightingale Pro (its a $35 sound card), PC-windows with Audacity.

I'm buying the Firebox package at Musicians friend. I currently have a soundblaster LIVE sound card. Should I upgrade me sound card also? If so, to what? Or will I be fine with that? My monitors go into my audio interface, so I assume what I will be hearing is what it will sound like. Does the sound card directly affect your recoridng or how it comes out?

If I'm working on editing audio or working on midi in Reason or Logic (using the midi controller keyboard to play with the vsts), do I need to get a pci card for powerbook or is the card which comes with the Powerbook good enough? what is the latency like?
