I'm buying the Firebox package at Musicians friend. I currently have a soundblaster LIVE sound card. Should I upgrade me sound card also? If so, to what? Or will I be fine with that? My monitors go into my audio interface, so I assume what I will be hearing is what it will sound like. Does the sound card directly affect your recoridng or how it comes out?
Also, MIDI. Is there a way to, perhaps with a plugin , create your own drums (using CUBASE). I mean, actually go into detail and make a drum beat for a song, without having actual drums. And I dont mean just simple beat loops, I mean full on songs.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I'm thinking about getting a fairly better soundcard, no more than $150, preferably a $100 sound card. I think mine is okay for now, but I might want to invest in that when I get the money. As far as the drums, I will take a look into that. I can play drums (generally), I just want something where I can almost "tab it out" and it will play what is tabbed. Or maybe use an external program to tap and just tranfer the midi to the CUBASE. but yeah im gonna check this out. Thanks again.

The Firebox is in a sense like a sound card, it provides audio I/O and A/D conversion for the computer. I don't think you need one in addition to the Firebox.
You can use something inexpensive like an M-Audio Trigger Finger to "play" out MIDI drum parts, using a software sampler that has drum sounds (like Native Instruments Kompakt or Battery). If you check out a couple of the recordings on my site (like Rush to Judgement and Differential) those drum parts are played with this drum pad device, with a bit of quantizing but mostly left as is.

More "expensive" soundcards have better ad/da conversion (analog to digital conversion), more headroom, they support higher bitrates and sampling freq, although i think your soundcard does support 24bit/96 (not to mention better written drivers) etc.
About midi drums, just find a site that has some midi drum files, there are tons of them out there, free or commercial.

I suggest you have a look at these, and adjust them to what you want, this way you'll understand more about how drumming works(well ok, not like a real drummer but thats about the best you can do in software) rather than using a plugin ( ex jamstix) to do it for you.
