my mix on other speakers
I mix in a non treated room on Event Electronics TR6 monitors. I like the sound of my mixes even they dont ever stack up to the CDs I buy in a store(probably cause of my Mackie board). My mixes usually sound pretty good in my car and on my nice home stereo but why do they sound so terrible on pc speakers?

Speaker choice/power rating
Here's what I got so far:
The most important thing is not to let the amp start clipping, because then you get all this extra high-frequency energy which is really destructive to voice coils and so forth. Much more important than the max power rating, since an amp rarely gets turned up all the way anyway...

When I mix songs they sound like crap on most speakers.
Yes I know I need nearfield monitors. So I am thinking Msp5a's from Yamaha. I have spent soo much money over the last few months on preamps, comps, mics and a new recorder. It is SOOO depressing when I put my mix on any speaker besides the stupid BOSE wave freakin radio It sounds like it was recorded through a 1 inch layer of mud! AGHHH. (y)
Audiophile grade speakers for monitors?
I recently took a listen to Wharfedale's Diamond 9 line of speakers for (somewhat) budget-minded audiophiles. They seem to perform just as well (despite having to be powered) as many of the more expensive studio monitors I have seen.

Set up Mixer, Sound Card, Speakers
Alright. Im working with a Behringer UB1204-PRO (YEA RIGHT!) mixer right now, a stock sound card, and pair of KRK Rokits. I was wondering on how to set these up so that I can record a track, but as I'm recording, hear the track on the speakers and also hear any previously recorded tracks if there are any.

budget mastering speakers
Need some advice on some budget speakers to use for mastering (not mixing). Is there anything that could be recommended in the 500.00 to 2000.00 range? Audiophile speakers perhaps?

SPEAKER HELP- Logitech Z-5500 anyone? something else?
Hey everyone,
Bad news is, my beloved pair of Tannoy monitors recently bit the dust.
Good news is, its time for new speakers!
I think my speakers broken
ummmmm.
well the other day i was playing around with a tone generator and my monitors went all funny. the sound was getting through but it was fainter and sounded wirey. perhaps i could be the coil but they are full range and pretty alright speakers. Could anyone please shed some light and as Mr T would say 'pity the fool'.
Thanx

Big jamming out speakers
I have a decent set of monitors, JBL lsr25p with a powered sub, that get me an accurate mix, but I am looking for some big speakers for the bands to jam to while listening to the tracks they've recorded. I kind of want to have a farfield monitor system but they're way too expensive, I don't want to have to pay like $5000-10,000 for some farfields.
