I've been in the market to get new AD, and was initially looking at used Rosettas(48k), but recently it seems like, for a little more money, I could get a stereo Mytek.

Now that they've been out for a bit and people have had a chance to use them, how do you like them? Do you think its worth the extra money over a $650 used Rosetta?

What if any is the difference between recording stereo using two mics into a dual pre or using two mics into into two mono pres.I ask because I'd like to buy a single high quality mic preamp but ultimately have two to record in stereo,right at the moment I can't afford two.

I've posted this previously, but I have more questions that might be answered fully. The suggestions that were provided included the use of figure 8 pattern, which I don't have with any of my current mics. I need to record a guy playing guitar and singing at the same time.

I need some suggestions for recording 2-track live feeds, or for capturing sound-effects. Something under $800.

Recently, I've been messing around with compression on my drum submix. I'm using a dual mono compressor, it seems to me that the best way to preserve the stereo image is to; set both channels exactly the same and key one side on both channels, i.e. left side straight signal and the right side listens to the left signal...

I have this old Behringer Edison-Stereo image enhancer that I've had a lot of fun with. I've used it a lot on Bg-vocals. I really like the way you can expand the stereo-image and be able to move the center from "front" to "rear" ( and vice versa).
Now I know that you'll say that all the Behringer stuff are crap... So my question is:

I am wondering if anyone here has actually used one, the proce doesn't seem too bad.

I was looking at getting a pair of ELi Distressors, but if I went this route I could afford there vmp-2000e as well.

I recently upgraded to a stereo mixer, part out of a need for more power, part out of a need to seperate guitar and vocal EQ for home recording use.

I just got some msp5's off ebay. I plugged them into (out of?) my sound card, which has a single 3.5mm speaker output. Is there even a way to get stereo out of this? I ran a TRS 1/4" adapter, then a 1/4" splitter then two TS cables to each monitor. Now If I pan right, the volume drops--pan left, it increases. Should I use TRS cables also instead of TS?
