Wav stereo track becomes mono when importing to Logic ?
Hi,
I had "bounced" a wav stereo track from Logic 7 Express, and had re-imported it to Logic to work with master effects on it, - but when the clip was imported it was suddenly mono, and my stereo effects were lost.
When i open the file in QT player it is stereo, but it's being converted when importing to Logic.
I hope for a quick answer !
Thanks in advance !
Royer sf 12 stereo mic, any use in classical recordings ?
Another one out for sale. A decent price (half new). Are they useable and then for what?

SSL 4000G STEREO MODULES
Hello all,
I'd like to pick the brains of the SSL 4000 users out there.
I'm curious to know what the SSL 4000G stereo modules are like.
i.e. is there a loss of quality compared to mono, ease of use etc.. Any knowledge would be most welcome.
Thanks in advance amigos !

Portable stereo recording gear from small recital to orch.
I am looking to start recording concerts, recitals, audition tapes, demos, etc. It would be all classical intruments. I'm looking for some kind of gear to record just stereo (i don't wanna get too fancy with tons of mics and wires running all over the place).
Live Stereo vs. . Multitrack, (was Location Line Mixer)
I am thinking of getting one of these as our new state of the art location line mixer.

Stereo Recording With Dissimilar Microphones?
Does anyone here do that? Is there any big downside to recording acoustic guitar or drum overheads in stereo with, say, an AKG 414TLII and a Neumann KM184?
which pair for stereo recording
I have a gig saturday and i want to record it, and looking for feeback on which the better choice is for mics (of the two sets of "matched" pairs that I own): AKG C1000's or Oktava MK-012's
I have a PreSonus bluetube mic preamp, too -- any input on whether to use it, or use the foh board pre's?

mixing stereo samples
Can someone give me an idea as to how to mix stereo sample. I want to sample some percussion with 3 mics for each instrument, 1 close and 2 overheads (or is that a bad idea). I will be recording about 5 different instrument. What is the best way to mix each sample.

close Micing in stereo?
So I'm wondering if there is a preferred method for close Micing in stereo, or if this is commonly done, or if it's a major faux pas.
It seems to me in my reading here and elsewhere that the XY, ORTF, and Bloomingdales configs are usually used for room mics where they are a ways back from the sound source.
