Description

The term "tracking" is a process when recording various instruments, voices etc used to create a song or production within its track. If a song is recorded one track at a time, we refer this to "tracking". Every time you record a new track, you hear all the other ones you've recorded as well. This tag discusses all sorts of topics on tracking music.

Newbie needs Multitracking advice!

I'm currently in a rock band(4pc, I'm the drummer), which wants to record. I have recorded with othe projects in the past, but this time it looks like I'm gonna be the "engineer" and I'm pretty excited about that. I have a lot of interest in recording and I'm anxious to learn. However, I'm a little short on gear and don't know exactly what to get to maximize my budget.

Equipment Advice for new portable tracking rig...

Hey guys,

This is my first post on your fine forum. I must confess i only discovered it a few days ago but was impressed with the community here in terms of knowledge, but primarily in experience.

Im not sure eexactly which forum to put this post in (it seems to fit the bill for a few) - so mods, please move it if you think it belongs elsewhere.

Tracking in Mono

I've a small problem I've been trying to sort out. A mate of mine has a 96i with his pro tools system. When were tracking we only have one mix and can only listen to wat the musician is listening to. This is really annoying especially with a click involved. I've tried to set up a seperate feed out the SPDIF but its a mirror of the 1-2 outs.
