Mic closet being (modestly) upgraded - wee bit of help appr.
Current set:
RODE K2
SP C4 set
2 x KEL HM-1s
tons of SM57s and 58s
D112
Based on this I'd like to get an ATM4033 or a Groove Tubes GT44 to use on guitar cabs, vocals etc. And also for snare, but I don't think thats a good choice even when considering it - I just don't have a semipro snare mic yet.
another "what to upgrade" question
Should I spend money on getting a high quality condenser mic with a with a nice pre, or some really nice pro preamps for my already good dynamic mics? I do hard rock/metal/screamo/fusion rock, and I have recorded a beta 57 through my art prochannel, on screaming vocals, and it sounded good but didn't have that clarity like my condensers have.

Mic pre upgrade with onboard A/D capability
First of all, I'm impressed by the level of professionalism and passion that people bring to these forums. A lot of very useful information is floating around in here. I've lurked on this board for a number of months and finally joined. I'm seeking some input on planned upgrades.

hi all
i'd appreciate some advice on a mic. it's for my home studio and i've been happy with my trusty sm58 for years but i think it's time to upgrade my mic since i would like to raise the quality of the vocals recordings (with the odd acoustic instrument every now and then).

Mic upgrade advice needed
I simply want a setup that has a mic dedicated to a purpose so I can focus more on music (various forms of rock) rather than recording technique. Any help regarding this is MUCH appreciated.
PREAMP:
SMPro Audio Pr8 (modded) & 1 $300-$500 channel for
lead vox (haven't decided which preamp to get yet).

Sonar 4 worth the upgrade?
Hello! As you can see this is my first time here. From the looks of the threads I have been looking over, this will hopefully be my new audio forum home. I used to frequent audioforums.com, but after a few months break, I returned to find the forums almost empty! anyways...
