Vocal mic for opera singers
Has anyone here ever recorded opera singers and can recommend:
a good mic $1500-2500 range and a pre at same range
Harmonics in the opera voice is a fundamental characteristic to the sound and I wouldn`t want these overtones to be compressed. Any specific mic used as a preference. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Remigio

I am looking to make an upgrade from the current mic i am using for vocals... the Neumann TLM 103. I am looking for a significant change/upgrade. I have about $3000 to spend. I want the vocals to be warm, full and present...used mostly for pop, rock, and alternative music. i am using an Avalon m5 mic preamp recording into digital performer... can anyone recommend some mics to check out.

vocal sound
Hi all,
wondering if anyone has any tips on vox sound. I am happy with the clarity i am getting but it lacks a little depth and thickness.
I know a lot of people say double track the vox but what if the vocalist aint good at double tracking?
cheers,
Sammyg

Vocal Processor for Stage
Howdy Gang,
I was wondering if'n any of you all had recommendations for a vocal processor for my lady singer. We are looking fer a multiFX floor unit, though a rack mount with foot pedal might be OK. Maybe one like this?

Vocal treatment
Can anyone please give me some other tips on what I do with the vocal track(s) in my mix to make them sound better?
What I do at the moment is use 2:1 compression, plate reverb, very little eq and that is basically it. My vocals end up sounding okay but against the rest of the music sounds a bit 'too honest' and unprofessional.

Help with Vocal Sound
I was asked by the guy I am working with to get:
---quote---
Kind of like Leonard Cohen on 'The Future' album, or 'I'm
your
Man". Or Nick Cave on 'Boatman's Call' or 'No More Shall We Part'.
THese
are not country recordings but their vocals are always close and big
sounding without being overly loud.

Vocal effects question
Hello,
Opinions on what are best vocal effects devices? By "best", I am thinking of those that allow for the most flexibility and options in working with and improving the quality, sound, and timbre of the human voice. Thank you.

Second Primary Vocal Mic - Not Budget Minded
I run a studio and do a lot of different recordings from singers to voice overs to acoustic instruments. I run through a variety of nice mic preamp's - Neve, API, Avalon, and am happy with my workhorse mics including the AKG TL-II. I need to purchase another mic and am looking for suggestions. Under $3,000.

Vocal ballance
Hello all, I am not very experienced with all this stuff, But am strugling with room modes (i think) Basicley i am a hifi listener not a recording person. But in my listening room when i play music all vocals and most center stage sounds, appear to come slightly to the right hand side? I have tried the usual swopping of kit from left to right etc but to no avail.
