NS10 vs. . Alesis Monitor One
Hello Folks,
First of all, as I'm new to the list, I'd like to introduce myself - My name is Marcus, I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and am currently trying to set a home studio.
I play keyboards in a Pop/Rock band, and my current setup includes (and I won't bother you with computer specs) a M-Audio 1010 and Sonar 3.

NS10 kick drum mic
Well thanks to Recorderman I got a mounting bracket, and finally got around to building this today. COOL! I soldered a small cable end to the old NS10 speaker (the one from the Guinness Incident), and a short-run to a MALE XLR connector.
:tu:

RecorderMan's NS10 microphone
Hey all...here are some pictures of my NS10 Microphone. I went to a machine shop and had them add the bar that goes from one screw-hole over the magnet to the other one. This lets me mount it on a standard mic stand. Add this as a second mic to any other mic setup @ around -10db in level (at least, sometimes less) and you'll get an amazing modern sub low end added to your kick.

Subwoofer for NS10
Hi!
I just got a pair of NS10 set up in my studio. (been using Genelec 1030 before).
The NS10 sound great and really honest! But I need to get a subwoofer as well.
Does anyone know what sub would work great together with the NS10? Is the Yamaha SW10 a good choice or should I go with the KRK sub? Or is there something else out there that's even hotter ;) ?

NS10 monitor alternatives
Kurt, if the devil were to burn all the NS10's on the globe what monitors would you use? And would they translate well?

I'm (almost) able to buy me a pair of 2nd hand ns10's
The only problem is: I have absolutely no money at all. I'm want good reference speakers, so...
My question: what's the current price on 2nd hand NS10's? What should I look out for when checking them out?
Cheers

NS1000M monitors
I found another set of 1000's on ebay.
Again, not the seller, just a public service annoucement.
The grills are missing from the woofers and the seller states that it improved them due to "ringing"

Yamaha NS 10 vs. .
Hi everyone,
I'm in the market for some good nearfield monitors and I just wanted to get some opinions on some good monitors in the $300 range. Tho I could possibly go more if they're really good. :)
Right now I'm looking at the Yorkville YSM-1i monitors ($240) and I've heard these are very good, but I'm also open to other suggestions if you guys know of any better ones.
