Yamaha O1V setup

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this but it said to start here so I thought I would go for it. I don't know if this can even be explained over the web. Anyway. I just bought a Yamaha O1v Digital Console, and I'm not sure how to hook it up exactly. I've been recording stuff at home for awhile but never really understood how to hook up a mixer with all my stuff.

Yamaha DM2000 vs DM1000

Greetings,
Have been working on a Yamaha DM2000 for a few months and totally in love with it...want to get the smaller DM1000 for my project studio. Besides the obvious features differences, has anyone A/B'd them in terms of converters, etc? Yamaha states that there are no differences in signal path, although I know for a fact the pre's are a bit different.
