Hey, I've posted here before and I'm back lol..
But check it out...Say for example you have an SSL board.. Neve.. or something big and analog like most big studio's have...
Would you need an interface to go along with it to record into the computer?
And would the interface change the sound that comes out of the board?
I'm really new to the big board stuff, thanks!

Usually it's done with the console then (maybe A/D converters) then into the protools I/O, whatever that may be.
I think the 192 is used a lot, I'm pretty sure it has converters in it though.

Dunno about other DAWs.

I think there are a few ways to do it actually

Some large format consoles that are new have interfacing capabilities built in. The SSL AWS 900 is probably the one you will hear about most.

What kind of console do you have?
