Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum and semi-new to recording. I'm about to buy my first pair of monitors and I've been thinking about going with the Mackie MR8's. I noticed on the MR8's that there is input for RCA, 1/4 inch and XLR. My question is, which is the better of the three to use and why? I unfortunately have a low-budget Tascam US-144 and it only has RCA out however, I intend on upgrading my interface sometime in the near future. I record hip hop vocals and I make beats. My gear currently is:

Interface: Tascam US-144

Mixer: Mackie 1202 VLZ3

Mics: Shure SM7B, Sterling Audio ST-51

Preamp: Grace m101

Midi: M-Audio 61es

Drum Machine: Akai XR20
