Do you mean the "multivoice" parts? It sounds like a whole lot of effects but mostly some sort of harmonizer...maybe one of those boxes that build harmonies from a single track. It could also be vocoder although I don't believe so because the vocals are only being pitches and not merged with some sort of carrier signal like a synth.

I have also the same thought in mind. I think Neyo also use the same style.

The effect is largely a phased/phasing effect of a flange/flanged effect with a fairly fast VCO and about 25% depth of the sine wave on the flange. Since there is more than one VCO and more than one delay line, the vocals seems to wrap around you as you hear the direct standing front and center or wherever you happen to place him in the left-center right positioning. Meanwhile his little aural head swirling keeps you on your toes. Maybe a little short plate ambience with some additional high-end boost on the send will also give you that Thriller Vincent Price like clobberation you are looking to attain. Now you have the recipe. Don't forget to compress the crap out of the vocal to begin with.

sorry but..um horrible. It is shocking to me that anyone would actually try for that sound. Over compressed, distorted and fake.... Sorry to be so blunt but it should read "Damn, don't EVER make it sound like...."

First off i want to apologize if I sounded rude to you, I certainly did not mean to sound like a jerk..but this recording and it's production is not "nice" in my opinion. I guess things have changed and this is nice to some folks...just not to me.

There are distortions, but I think those suckers wanted it that way and find it cool...
The singing is heavily software supported. It is a folkloristic style often to be heard in the north-western part of Cairo.
The good cairene singers can perform it wonderfully and onomatopoeically, ...he can't....
If it isn't autotune it is melodyne or maybe a played sample, right away...

I'm with the previous poster - I don't know why you would want this effect anyway.

Especially the way it gets mangled in the MP3 compression... It sounds so cheesy to me.

It's a doubling, chorusing, phlange, phase-shifting whatever you want to call it effect and sounds like his voice is hollow and low-fi.

It also doesn't help that the auto-tune is making his voice mono-tone and hitting the same note...

Just my thoughts..

Bruce uses the EMT250/2 or the AMS 16... Not really short..
