We purchased one a couple of years ago for mastering and it works GREAT. There is lots of information on the web about the unit including some reviews. It has a good D to A and a good A to D, the eq is so so and the limiters/compressors are good. Will it beat a HEDD or Weiss NO> Is it a good value for the money YES> would I buy it again YES> Do I think it is the best one around NO but pretty close> Will it beat the TC Finalizer HANDS DOWN>

Hope this helps.

Quantum.....

Thanks for the info. guys......When I tried the T.C. it just seemed like I was in way over my head. I have the DBX DDP and I get really good results with tracking. so it made me curious about the Quantum. but I couldn't really talk to anyone who was using it with good results. from what I've read about the Quantum it seems to be a "bigger and better" version of the DDP. the T.C. stuff seems overly complex. I have a "triple c" and really like it. to bad they stopped making it. .....anyone else have anything to say about the Quantum II ...?

The dbx is not all that simple and there is a pretty steep learning curve but it is worth the time and effort. The unit is pretty transparent. It has a lot of features some of which you may or may not want to use and lots of menus to go though. There is a way of controlling it from your computer which may make it easier to use for lots of people to use.

I would do my homework and download the manual BEFORE you purchase it to see if it is more complex than you want. It does have some presets similar to the TC Finalizer but they are just starting points.

Hope this helps.
