perhaps what your pluging the mic into isn't a pre amp. What are you using?

the problem was, channel 2 is bad, so it works awesome, sounds soo good. thanks for your help- caleb ...it was a learning experience..

Don't you know you NEVER EVER use channel 2 on a mixer???
