Check that the on-board soundcard is disabled on the computer motherboard.

Sound card is disabled, still no luck figuring it out. I can get by without it matching but im just curious and hoping the focusrite unit is not malfunctionung as thats what seems to be feeding the DAW incorectly. My IO is setup in Pro Tools proper, double checked that too....

No real ideas here, but what sample is everything being set to run? What is the clock set to in the PT Hardware panel?

If you plug a mic into the Saffire preamp where does it show up in this scenario.

Everything is at 44.1 sample... The Sapphire sends audio accordingly to analog inputs 1-8 to DAW properly. The Mackie sends ADAT 1-8 accordingly as well because i set the settings in Saphhire mix control to show ADAT 1-8 on the meters on the hardware panel itself and it is accurate.... Just not in Pro Tools as the Focusrite may be transalating the Mackies ADAT connections incorrectly. I have not tried using the Mackie as the interface yet and the Focusrite as slave to it. Ill try that next, ill email tech supports to see what they have to say as well. I did read through manuals already and i setup as specified....

Damn phone again wigged out and posted before complete. Everything is fine with Mackie Blackibird as interface to Pro Tools and using the Sapphire standalone ADAT into it... Possibly the Dynex Firewire PCI card i installed in the HP computer was issues with the Sapphire. IDK. Thats all BB had for firewire cards and noticed its not "approved/tested" by AVID.

Well i have been having other issues other than whats been found out. So far the ADAT channel misalignment to Pro Tools has been fixed by using the Mackie Blackbird as the interface. But i have since had issues keeping the Focusrite hooked up Firewire to computer within Pro tools 9. It seems to confuse Pro Tools and cause it to shut down because of "hardware issue". The Focusrite when disconnected from firewire of computer keeps all running smoothly. However, i need it connected to change any Focusrite Liquid channel preamp settings.... Well, i decided to change the firewire connection of the Focusrite to the next available firewire port. So far now, everything is running good with both hardware connected with firewire and ADAT without Pro tools 9 shutting down. Its just frusterating when trying to learn new software and hardware and such a small thing can really botch everything up and lose time i should be able to play with preamps, mic placement, etc etc.... Learning experience which i already knew, dont short yourself any link in the chain as it will only cause hair loss and violence. Stupid lame Dynex firewire PCI i bought at Best Buy because i was too anxious to wait and order a tested and proven piece from a PC online store. Didnt see a location for this on AVIDs website until recent. Well actually it was a a bad port on the 3 port card. Anyways, thought i would share my experience as it may help someone down the road.
