Hello all,

Im having in my STudio 2 pairs of speakers, Dynaudio BM15A and
Event TR8 XL..

Im not really satisfied with the sound...
Im a House Music producer and I need more clear sound of my speakers

I decide to sell them both and buy A.D.A.M. speakers.
That was a recommendation of a friend of mine. He said check S2.5A or P22.

Anyone have them here? Which are the difference in these 2 models?

I never hear them because in the place I live there isn't any dealer to check them

If you are not getting a clear sound from BM15A's, I would almost guarantee the problem is not with the monitors. How are the acoustics in your room? What kind of D/A conversion and amplification are you using? What software/hardware synths/samplers/effects are you using? How are your mixing skills... ie do your mixes sound clear on other systems, and if so, which ones and why?

If you really just have your heart set on the ADAM's, Chris over at analogindustries.com can't seem to say enough about them.

Hope this helps.

On second thought, maybe your Dynaudio's are broken. You had better send them to me. If I can't fix them at least I got them off your hands, right?

I agree - The ADAM's will sound a little different, but DA's should be quite good sounding - IF the room is properly treated.

If not, NOTHING is going to sound right.

Not knowing your situation, but assuming you're in a "room" (4 walls, a ceiling, maybe a door or two) you're going to need bass trapping. If you haven't handled that yet, work on that before you dot another "i."

Im using Cubase SX 3 with Motu 828 mk II soundcard and in some project Im using Protools 02 LE.
Im mixing with Event and then Im switching to DA for have a better image of my track for the low freqs. As I can hear DA have a gap in middle freqs.
Yes, I have a semi soundproof studio room. But an engineer came and analyze the sound in my studio and he said that my room adds noise at 160hz which I eq it down with an extenal Alesis Deq-230.

Do you have any kind of sub in your rig? Also, what are your room dimensions?

I've reviewed the Adam P33A, if it helps you any. You can read it here:
http://mixonline.com/mag/audio_adam_pa_studio/index.html.

If you'd like, email me privately for more info on my thoughts on the Adam square ribbon tweeter.

I'm with the others on this; doesn't sound like a speaker upgrade is the first thing to do in your case.....

The problem is that you are using an external eq in your signal chain.

You should continue to add bass trapping until you eliminate the 160Hz issue and then get rid of the eq. Most EQ's will add a phase shift that, in your case, may be adding other acoustic problems to your room/mixes.

My room is app. 4.30 meter lenght
3.30 meter width
2.00 meter Height

Floor is laminated floor and the rest is made out of concrete.
I have 2 large office desks made of melamine wood which all my machines and my 2 pair of speakers placed on.

The speakers have about 0.50 meter distance from the wall which is covered by soundproof material (only wall behind speakers)

Speakers standing on a material which I have placed for vibration, about 10 centimeters from the desk so when Im seating on the chair they have the same height with my ears . They have 1 meter distance each other.

I read your article and I found it excellent but P33 are very big for my room as I think the same for DA BM15a..

I dont know how place a picture in this forum else I will have many to show you...MY email is oea1811@yahoo.gr so if you send me an email I will send you some pictures

Thanks a lot everyone for your interest to help me.. REally I appreciate it

I was going to say - and someone else chimed in -

You don't EQ room problems out of a room - It's not about the speakers, it's about the room. A peak at 160 is going to be a peak at certain points. Move a few inches in any direction, it's not a peak anymore. It might be a null.

Bass trapping. Lots of it if necessary. I have 21 traps in this room alone.

Too much? Probably much more than needed, but you really can't have too much bass trapping - What's the worst thing that could happen? Trapping all the reflected bass? That's not a problem - That's *perfection*
