I've recently started using Steinberg's Wavelab.
I want to use it to create samples for my sampler but am having problems understanding the PDF's explanation on how this is done. It's not very clear.
A- I want to set loop points within the samples but am not sure how to set this up step by step.
The concept doesn't escape me as I've done this before in Peak. The help guide only says to "Initiate" it but doesn't say under what file menu to do this etc.
B- Once I figure out how to set loop points in Wavelab, I want to be able to save each loop as a seperate file with the loop point information. I can't figure this out either.
C- Once I'm able to set loops, can I save the samples individually in AIFF format and transfer the info. into peak to do my sample dump from a mac? Will this work cross platform or will a mac not be able to read the saved info. from my pc?
I'm just trying to widen my horizons by learning new software etc. I try to use both both mac and pc's, this is why I'm forcing myself to learn this.
Lastly, can anyone tell me what and why they might like or not like about Wavelab over other wave editor programs.

Thank you Opus. What I want to do is not just save a loop within a sound file per say... I want to save a whack of samples for later usage in my sampler. At that time, I want to be able to just transmit the samples into the sampler with all of the "loop until release" info. included within the sample itself. When I try to "save as", I don't notice any options for save the loop within the sample information. Is this just automatic once I've set up the looping parameters?

One way is to highlite the area in which you want to make the loop from..on the transport bar there are different settings...the first one if you click on it will bring up some options..tell it to play from Start of Selection..there's a little arrow inbetween..leave it alone..the third selection set it to either stop at end of selection or loop selection..this way you can play the area in a loop to make sure it loops correctly..once you have the loop done you can drag that selection to the outside of that box and it creates the file you need!! Next go to save as and save it as an Aiff file? Voilla...you've just made a loop!!
