Hey guys. I have a delima. I started a project a couple years go and did three songs recorded at 44.lk/16 bit. Since then, I moved up to 44.1/24 bit. When I open my mixes in Wavelab 4.0, the 16 bit mixes have some type of digital distortion or something and I noticed some "unders" when looking at the bit meter. Has anyone ever heard of this? These mixes sound great prior to bringing them into Wavelab. P.S. turning on the dither didn't help either.
Thanks

Well, did you change the files to be 24 bit? What if you set the project setup to be 16 bit and re import them? Dithering won't do much as it only reduces at the final stage. You have to process them and not just add the dither to the master section.
Remember that dithering is adding noise where the bits used to be. Also what version of Wavelab are you using? Make sure if you are using UV22HR that it's the latest version of Wavelab as there was an incorrect implementation of it in the previous version which may or could cause this to happen to your files.
