I just ordered the new Weiss dynamic eq update. It allows you to assign 4 bands of eq to be dynamic eqs. Has anyone used this yet? The update works only in the MK2 mode and not in the linear phase mode but Daniel said he's checking into seeing if it can operate in all three modes.

i would love to hear what you guys think about the new dynamic eq upgrade on the weiss eq1 mk2. i have been thinking about getting the linear phase upgrade but i am very curious about this dynamic eq thing. i know that you can't get both upgrade running at the same time for the current dsp board. so, it's either linear phase or dynamic eq, but not both. i hope weiss can come up a newer dsp board which can take both eq models at the same time.

I installed the dyn eq software over the weekend and spent a whole day fiddling. It's definately got some good things going for it. It's very fast and can be pushed to the extreme with interesting results. Using it in M/S mode gives even more control for pulling out detail all the while keeping things under control. It only works with a bell curve and not shelving and right now the peak meters don't work, a bug that's being fixed. This software is priceless when it comes to funky mixes that need fixin, or should I say remixin. you can really get in there and change balances between things. With this software, the eq is now a super workhorse. Now if he can find a way to have it operate in all 3 modes, I would kiss him.
