I need to make some cables to connect my Masterlink to my Soundcraft Ghost. And I don't know if I need 1/4" TRS or 1/4" TS.
The Masterlink is XLR and the Ghost is 1/4".
There are 2 or 3 sets of 1/4" jacks on the Ghost that I can use to send to the Masterlink, but which is best?

The manual is not very clear on this. They only list the various options available, do to so.
Also because the Masterlink's XLR's are balanced, doesn't that mean I need to use the set of 1/4" jacks that are balanced on the Ghost?

Assuming you are going to use the MasterLink as your mixdown machine, you would need to build TRS cables on the Soundcraft end for the in's and the out's. The outputs on the Ghost, are not truly 'balanced' but are wired as 'ground-compensated' so you can send to a balanced input (ie:MasterLink) with no phase problems. The 2track inputs, both A and B, are balanced. So you would have the appropriate XLR to 1/4" TRS for each cable...both ins and outs.

Its what I use only I have a Sony Mastering CD recorder instead of the Alesis.

That is correct

DaveDog, which set of outputs are you using (on the Soundcraft) to go to the CD recorder?
