Rebuilding a mobile recording trailer, looking for some input on consoles. Need 48 In, 48 Out. Looking for something in the 20k-45k price range.
Got a couple ideas but seeing what gets suggested before I mention any on my plate.

There should be a LOT of choices in this price range. I suppose it gets down to your complete needs...ie: number of mic pres vs. line ins. digital or analog??? automation? Are you going to simply capture in the trailer and mix at a studio location?? Or are you looking to do the whole Stones Mobile Recording Unit thing.....Tape Machines? Daw front end??
Split sends from an FOH mix with some sweetening mics in the building?? Theres a lot of options at the number you've put up.

As DD said, there are a lot of options at this price level, but you have to give a bit more detail on how you want to work. For example, will you be running analog snakes out from your trailer to the stage, or do you want remote-controlled pre-amps and ADCs and pipe digital data to and from the mixer? Come to that, do you want an analog or digital console? How do you propose to record that number of channels reliably?
