Hi all,

I'm looking to create a simple recording station out of my computer at home. I have a nice pc I built myself last winter, but nothing even remotely special as far as a sound card goes. If I just want to setup a way to record myself playing violin, do I need a good sound card/new mixer/ high end mic? I'm open to spending $800 on this, but would rather go with the cheapest solution that actually results in a quality sound.
