Hi, I need to get a pair of small nearfields for home (at work i use mostly Genelec or ns10s )

I'm still not sure between theses: Dynaudio BM6A , ADAM P11-A's, MACKIE HR824's and Gen1031's.
I have a preference for the dynaudio, (great imaging and clarity and the less fatiguing to my ears)
but as I'm going to use them for tracking too (as much as for mixing) I'm not sure if they are the right choice, I've heard that they are quite fragile. Is that true?
some other opinions about that would be very useful. Thanks!

A major radio broadcaster country wide and goverment owned tested main and near field speakers for 2.5 months,,,

for the mains they went with ATC 150 actives,, for the near fields, although they liked the ATC SCM -20 pros, sound wise, they chose the Dynaudio BM6a's for bang for buck and quality,,,also because they ATC's are in cast metal boxes and weight 65lbs each, felt they were too heavy to lug around,,

they compared the near fields to Genelec, Yamaha, Klipsh , and a host of other major brands,,

Hope this helps with some decisions

I've had a pair of BM6a's for about three years now. They are great for tracking or mixing (provided of course the room you're in is good). Don't know where you heard they are fragile - they have built in overload protection and I have thrashed them big time. My only criticism is that they don't have grill cloths - which means dust gets on the drivers and there's no way to avoid it. Finally the only problem I've had with them is that if they haven't been used for a while, sometimes the relays across the HF drivers doesn't switch on at power up. That's rectified by turning them on and off again in quick succession, but I just leave mine on all the time now so I don't have the problem. Mine have been on for constantly for about a year and a half now!

Pro Acs someone suggests? Yes they were reputed to be a great speaker, but more for hi-fi than serious studio work. And unless they're different these days they are very inefficient.

Good Luck!
