Hi--

I've read most of the monitor posts on this board, just a quick comparison question.

I'm running an Pro Tools HD Accel 2 system, and most of my (analog) recording consists of running a bass and guitars direct into a pre (with the guitars then going into Amp Farm), and live vocals. I don't record live drums or amped guitars.

My room is 20' x 11' and most of my recording is either for TV/film scoring or for groove-oriented r&b, blues, alt.rock and jazz. No hard rock or metal, no hip hop /rap (for the most part), no classical.

So my question is: I'm trying to find near-field monitors that would best suit my neesds. I'm aware that choosing monitors is a very subjective and situation-specific, but am wondering if there are any that specifically favor this type of recording application.

At this point, I'm leaning heavily towards either the Adam P11a or Dynaudio BM6a. Any opinions?

Thanks so much, everyone, in advance!

I never heard the Bynaudio BM6A(the reviews are fantastic) but for ADAM P11A i prefer the P22A for the price; better bass definition and more position in the panorama; ADAM are very nice in sound point and articulations... the highs are supra... a must!

KRK V6 or V8 are very vey nice (very similar to ADAM 11 and 22) but for me are more hard to my ear's but is a matter os taste... i love KRK but ADAM is more musical... understand my point of view... and have more power... a lot's!!!!

By the way, they lack of power... both the P11A and P22A but is enought for my ears and room... bigger!

Try to use the ADAM sub with the P22A... vey powerfull...

Monitors choice are very personal... like guitars, womans and cars...

Ive been debating monitors for a while now. Checking out ones mates own and reading every review google has to offer :)

My decision has come down to the BM6a's

In the UK these go for just slightly over £1000 a pair which is well over my original £600 budget, so Im putting off the purchase for another month as I think its worth it.

They will last for years so what the heck!
