Laska,
Your being from Australia, puts you at an advantage over the rest of us. You have had a chance to hear some of Joe Malone’s work. The TMP 8 from JLM is fast becoming a new favorite of mine as a mic pre. I still love the Sebatron too. I actually like having both. The cool thing about both designs is depending on how hard they are pushed, the sound character changes. So between the two, there is a virtual plethora, a myriad of sounds to be had.

It must be something in the water "Down Under", these guys know how to make mic pres...

Yeh, I've been to the website which kinda sucks. I've been there a few times and half of it doesn't seem to work. I've tried on my computer at work and @ home. Anyway, there doesn't seem to be any prices or ordering info on the site, that I can find at least. I did find the contact info so I suppose I will just email Joe.

Is there an american distributor?

Question for those who have used the TMP 8: I have a Sytek four channel. I'm thinking of either buying another Sytek or selling the one I have and buying a TMP 8. In your opinion, which would be better. The built in limiters sound interesting. They would mostly be used for drums.

Hi Trip,
I don't have a prob with the site??
Maybe because he just lives up the highway ;)
Retail: AU$2750
As many would also suggest here..."why buy more of the same" color?"
Add to your "color" options...go for the TMP-8.
Drums with that "soft limit", when it kicks in...bewdyful!
I've heard them in action live & recorded.
EIGHT prograde preamps for this price!
No doubts in my mind.
Regards,
Tom
