I know that those HDX cards are powerful but you can get a fully loaded UAD-2 Octo core for $5500 add an additional 2 for under $4000 (hardware only) and I don't know how much more power you will need. Other than the fact that UA and Avid seem to be at a crossroads, I'm not sure that an HDX would be a "better" choice considering the additional investment in Avid interfaces you would need, then the investment in plugins. I have yet to go PT 10 and PT 11 should be rearing it's head soon.

I tried Pro Tools 10 for a month and found it to a pretty disappointing compared to Samplitude.
I don't doubt UAD is the future for DAWs. The fact you can mix plug-ins going in is enough of a game changer right there. And their plug-ins are proven and respected more than any other on the planet. Put it all together with this new beast and I'd be selling avid stocks, lol. Here we go again rotf.
