I have the 412 PLEXTOR and it's make CDRs at 4X burn speed that skip. I use CRWin by Jeff Arnold, and it's on a 700 MHz Pentium with 128 meg of memory. I'm not sure of the settings it's supposed to have but I can look at anything (if I knew what to look for). Any clues?

Do you mean CDRWin? If so that's really not an audio burning program that works efficiently...CDRWin is great for making images of CD's and burning the images to a CD...the Plextor CD Burners are great units and work tremendously...If anything try burning at 1X and see if that helps..other things may be the media you are using...which brand? Typically Sony, TDK, Taiyoyuden are the best...but certain manufacturers will tell you differently of course...these are my reccomendations and experience..hope that helps
