You will find a lot of info here and in the archives. Use the search feature and you can find lots of good discussion. Serach for book as this has been talked about recently but I don't recall which specific fourum it was in.

I'm guessing that if you are mainly having issues with instruments that were tracked by microphone, than your real problem may be the acoustics of your tracking area. Can you tell us about the room you record in?

In the quick links section of this site there is a link for books. You'll find some good stuff there. Of course there are many books so yes recommendations would be helpful. I'm currently looking for something that covers more of the technical stuff. I've come into engineering after many years of being a musician and find that I have much to learn about why all this stuff works the way it does.

Hi, thanks for responding......I'm recording in (dare I say it/shame comes over me) my basement. Not much control over the sonic space there, however, I prefer to minimize room sound and use processor (reverb) to compensate....not sure this is the right approach....

I'm obviously not aspiring to be a "professional" (although that has been a fantasy of mine all my life)......I just love music and the recording process.....
