Hi,

I will be receiving a pair of Genelec 1030’s next week and have got a couple of questions about placement.

How close is too close as far as them being next to a computer display? The spec sheet says that they are electromagnetically shielded... Hmm...

Also I basically have only two choices for setting them up in my project studio, but not sure which would be best.

The first set up would have them aprox 1.5 meters from my head at head level with 2 meters between them. But they would need to be about 4 inches away from my two computer displays.

The other set up would have them wall mounted directly behind my gear at a distance of aprox 3 meters from my head angled in and downward about 1 meter over my head (from sitting position) aprox 3 meters apart.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

BTW; I do some music editing at ABC and we have the 1031’s in the room that I work in. When I first heard the Genelecs I was simply blown away by their crispness,accuracy and non coloration. My work sessions are sometimes as long as 16 hours straight and my ears never get “tired” of listening to them. If I even get 70% out of the 1030’s as I do with the 1031’s I’ll be in heaven...
