schools almost out (got about 3 weeks left) and have applied for one job like 2 days ago, and there is a full time position available in a shop in town, of which i should almost definatly get. so all this been said i should have about 1500GBP to spend in about 3months time for a new computer, as to which i will be needing for music and college, seems as college soley uses apple OS i was thinking about getting an apple.. perhaps a macbook pro, however part of me thinks i should get a desktop insted as you get 'more for your buck'

or even perhaps go as far as to building my own computer.. i priced this up a while ago (probally abou 12months ago) when i was heavily into computers and i could make a decent spec at a cost of around 700GBP.

anyhow.. what do you guys suggest?

thanks, dan.

I might get a lot of shi* for this, but here goes.

If you are up for it, it's not very hard to install OSX on other machines anymore. It would be possible to have a dual-boot machine that competes with the high-end iMac for probably $1000 -$1500 depending on what deals you found. The process of installing OSX is rather simple, and if that is all that you are using at school, then it might be worth it.

I found it to be a very good, and stable build when I had it.
