Would appreciate any words of wisdom regarding FOH and monitor mix guidelines for the following outdoor gig I am helping put together. Our band is playing in the backyard with the equipment and sound facing away from the house to a large open area with a row of tall trees about 75 feet back. We'll be using a couple of JBL 925's (2 way 15") with a powered sub for FOH. Have a Lexicon reverb unit and decent 30 band stereo EQ (split for FOH and monitors)in my rack for effects and a Mackie 1604 board.
Your thoughts on EQ issues/guidelines are appreciated.

The MR925's throw wide and not very far, so all that you need to worry about, since you are outside, and it sounds like you have plenty of space, is to get the mains in front of the stage/performance area. The further in front you can get them, the more gain before feedback that you will have without having to chop on the EQ. The role of the EQ doesn't necessarily change. You will still compensate for the difficiences of the PA with it.
The 925's are pretty honky sounding boxes, and muddy on the low end. The can sound nice is you biamp them, and use an active crossover. With those boxes I remember 250, 500 and 800 being the places that I almost always cut first.
