I have a G-Track USB microphone that I also use to plug my acoustic-electric guitar into. Is there a program that I can install on Vista that will allow me to sound like I'm playing different instruments when I'm playing my guitar? E.g., play note C on guitar and it will sound like different types of guitar, piano, trumpet, mandolin, etc.

This isn't exactly what was meant but who is to know.

Wasn't trying to fool anyone. This question wasn't answered in that thread so since they suggested I split up my questions on different subforums I did so. I would have prefered to have the answer questioned there rather than have to start a new post about it.

Time for me to leave. Thanks to the people who answered my questions.

Junction Audio-midi is freeware from fretted synth. This guy works real hard so do consider a donation. NO. I'm not affiliated with him in any way. I just think hard work deserves a reward.

This will allow you to control on midi instrument at a time. Some of the Roland products allow you to control different instruments depending on pitch range but those are not free.

The "oldies" bundle is worth the download. Safron is a Sound Font based synth which can be triggered with audio.
